Personality
Development

Who am I? A never-ending question.

To recognise, to change, to adapt, to evolve – that is our foundation. Our surrounding provides us with new impulses that help us evolve. However, there are some core characteristics that accompany us from the very beginning. They change their importance during the course of our lives however their content remains the same. Part of these core themes are our values, our strengths, our needs and the way we interact with others. These core themes form our personality, the better we know them and the more self-confident we are with our own personality, the easier it gets to find and embark on our way through life.

During a coaching session we will explore the following questions:

  • Which values are important to me in my life?
  • What are my strengths that define me?
  • What needs do I have?
  • What type am I when I am interacting with others? (MBTI)
  • Where will I be in a few years time?

Costs are dependent on the overall volume of the contract.

MBTI: the tool that is most widely recognised to assess personality types

What type am I?
As a licenced coach I make use of the MBTI tool that is the most widely used international tool to assess personality types in the world. Around two million humans make use of the MBTI tool every year. Interpersonal interactions and personal development are the core topics assessed in the MBTI. The idea is that every human being has specific preferences to make decisions, gather information, communicate and take action. To follow ones preferences is easier and it feels good – to act in contrary to ones preferences requires a lot of energy.

I have decided to make use of the MBTI tool as this is a tool that has been the foundation of research and development for 70 years and it has continuously evolved. This tools stems from the research of Carl G. Jung, a swiss psychoanalyst, who published his theory called „psychological types“ in 1921. These psychological types were further developed by Isabel Myers and Katharine Briggs culminating in the Myers-Briggs-Type-Indicator, in short MBTI. The core of MBTI is a questionnaire that is being evaluated by the MBTI organisation. The result of the test is then disclosed to the test candidate by a licenced coach. In this manner the validity of the outcome of the test is secured. To be able to do this assessment, the coach requires a licence and the MBTI test cannot be obtained free of charge from the internet.

Areas where the MBTI can be useful:

  • Personal development
  • Communication
  • Decision-making
  • Stress management
  • Vocation orientation
  • Support for leadership personell
  • Handling change
  • Conflict management
